On-Site Inspections are key to the implementation of many international agreements on arms control. While some inspection processes are well defined and structured, those that must be conducted by inspectors of the CTBTO are by nature likely to be contested,and are more fluid in character. This requires of them not only technical skills but highlevel negotiation Competencies in order to deliver effectively to their mandate.
